Nissan X Trail Priced Rs 20.42 Lakh; 80 Units Acquired By Big Boy Toyz

The X-Trail was introduced as a CBU in August 2024 and retailed for Rs 49.92 lakh, which adds to the high asking price for this seven-seat SUV. They can now confirm that the premium used automobile reseller Big Boy Toyz (BBT) has zero-mileage Nissan X-Trail units available for a staggering Rs 20.42 lakh less (about 40%) at Rs 29.50 lakh. The sales figures haven’t exactly been rocked by the Nissan X-Trail.

According to SIAM data, Nissan shipped 37 X-Trail automobiles to its dealerships nationwide between August 2024 and March 2025—that’s only 37 of the 150 units that were first brought into India in that time frame. Although some X-Trail units are also offered at BBT’s own dealerships, sources inform us that the company has purchased roughly 80 MY2024 cars via a third-party wholesaler.

“Bulk enquiries and corporate deals for products are a normal industry practice through authorised dealer partners, and the details of the same remain confidential,” Nissan India told when contacted for comment.

The Nissan X-Trail’s price tag and relative lack of features for such a high-priced vehicle are among the factors contributing to its slow sales. The international-spec model comes equipped with leather upholstery, a larger touchscreen, power adjust for the front seats, ventilated seats, a powered tailgate, and an ADAS suite.

The majority of these amenities are also found in less expensive seven-seat SUV competitors like the Skoda Kodiaq (Rs 46.89 lakh–48.69 lakh) and Jeep Meridian (Rs 27.80 lakh–38.79 lakh*). A better-equipped model for our market would have improved the SUV’s reputation and possibly increased sales, especially because the imported X-Trail was not intended to be a volume seller.

The 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine’s image is another factor contributing to the poor sales numbers; on paper, its 163 horsepower and 300 Nm of output seem unimpressive. But according to our review, the X-Trail is smooth and sophisticated. The advanced powertrain also has a variable compression ratio, which provided us with plenty of power without sacrificing fuel efficiency.

In reference to the dearth of features, one of the X-Trail cars shown on BBT’s website has been enhanced with beige leather upholstery and a larger 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen (normal models have an 8-inch device). It’s interesting to note that the price is the same at Rs 29.50 lakh as the one without the extra features.

Although the X-Trails were stocked at the company’s Gurugram location, a BBT salesperson also stated that deliveries are made throughout India.
