Hinduja Group Chairman, Gopichand Hinduja Dies At 85
Gopichand P Hinduja, the chairman of the Hinduja Group died in a hospital in the United Kingdom on Tuesday, November 11. The businessman was 85 years old when he took the final breath.
Known as ‘GP’ in business circles, Gopichand Hinduja joined the family business in 1950. He was the second of the four Hinduja brothers. The eldest brother, Srichand Hinduja, died in 2023.

Gopichand Hinduja is credited with transforming the company into a transnational business conglomerate, which was confined in Indo-Middle East trading operations.
The Group has businesses in eleven sectors, including automotive, banking and finance, IT, healthcare, real estate, power, and media and entertainment. The company’s reputed brands includes Ashok Leyland, IndusInd Bank and NXTDIGITAL Limited.

Graduated from Bombay Jai Hind College, Gopichand held honorary doctorate degrees from the University of Westminster and Richmond College.
