Trading Delayed After MCX Faces Technical Glitch; Starts At 10 AM

Trading on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) was temporarily halted on Tuesday morning, leaving users in delayed transactions. However, the MCX has officially gave an update that the portal will now begin at 10: am,  instead of the usual start time, due to a technical issue.

“Update as on 09:45 AM: Members are requested to note that trading will start at 10:00 AM due to a technical issue,” MCX said in an official statement. The glitch and the delay lasted for over 30 minutes.

Notably, the trading delay occurred just a day after MCX launched options trading in BULLDEX (iCOMDEX Bullion Index). The MCX has recently switched to new trading software developed by TCS.

The development is not an isolated incident; the exchange has faced similar technical issues in the past. In July this year, trading was delayed by more than an hour, and in February 2024, another major glitch suspended operations for four hours.
