The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Class 10 examination started today, February 21. The first paper, English Language – Paper 1, commences from 11 am to 1 pm and the last exam will be on March 28.
ICSE council has issued guidelines for students regarding the examination. According to them, students must arrive at the examination center at least 30 minutes before the time mentioned on the admit card. No students will be allowed to enter the center without admit cards with them.
The council also asked against engaging in unfair practices as this will result in expulsion from the exam. Electronic devices such as calculators, tablets, and mobile phones are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall.
The exam duration will be of 2 hours (for some exams 3 hours) and additional 15 minutes will be provided to students to review the question paper in advance.
As per the information, the question paper will have a new format promoting critical thinking and elimination of rote learning. The compartment exams have been removed by the Council, effective from the 2024 exam year. Alternatively, applicants may take improvement examinations for up to two topics and raise their scores and grades within the same exam year.
The Council has officially released the 2024 ICSE board test schedule. There are 2,341 schools associated with the ICSE Exam, both in India and abroad. The ICSE result is expected to be released in the month of May 2024.
