
IIT Bombay To Conduct JAM 2026; Application Window Opens In September
The Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2026 is all set to be conducted in the first week of September this year. The exam will be held by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) in 7 Test Papers, namely, Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS) and Physics (PH) in over 100 cities across India.
As per the JAM 2026 schedule, the registration window will open on September 5 (Friday) and candidates can apply until October 12 (Sunday). The examination will be held on February 15, 2026

The national-level entrance exam selects candidates for admission to postgraduate science programs at different Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). Candidates can can apply online for JAM 2026 through the link: https://jam2026.iitb.ac.in/
Aspirants who have completed an undergraduate degree or are currently studying in the final year of an undergraduate programme are eligible to apply for the JAM 2026 examination. Foreign nationals with an Indian degree are also eligible to apply, subject to the policy of the admitting institute. The JAM 2026 score is only valid for one year.
There is no age restrictions to apply for the examination. All candidates in the merit list are eligible for direct admission to about 3000 seats in various Postgraduate programmes at IITs and over 2300 seats at IISc and various CFTIs including NITs, DIAT, IIEST, IISER Pune, IISER Bhopal, IIPE, JNCASR, SLIET, through CCMN.
Admission will be for Masters programmes such as M.Sc., M.Sc. (Tech), M.Sc.- M.Tech. Dual Degree, M.S. (Research), Joint M.Sc. – Ph.D., M.Sc. – Ph.D. Dual Degree and Integrated‐ Ph.D (I-PhD) in various institutes.
