The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has emerged as the top university in India in terms of employability in a Global Employability University Ranking and Survey (GEURS) 2025. IIT has ranked at 28th rank among the 250 worldwide universities.
The GERUS 2025 ranking is released by French consultancy Emerging and featured along with the Times Higher Education. It emphasizes the growing requirements for employment skills such as adaptability work experience, and internships while evaluating candidates.
However, IIT Delhi slipped one spot from last year and IISc Bengaluru climbed eight places to 47th position by making it to the second Indian university in the top 50.

Globally, the United States dominated the list with 52 universities in the top 250. Massachusetts Institute of Technology, California Institute of Technology, Stanford University, Harvard University, and the University of Cambridge, UK secured the top 5 positions.
The Global Employability University Ranking and Survey (GEURS) is based on the employers’ direct assessments of graduate employability. It involves a multi-step process designed to evaluate the university’s ability to prepare students for the workforce. The ranking involves employer insights, the voting process, university selection, and performance justification.
Notably, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has also clinched the top spot in the 2025 QS Asia University Ranking list among the Indian Universities . The premier tech institute has secured 44th position in the list and has overtaken IIT Bombay in the latest rankings. Six Indian universities were ranked among Asia’s top 100.
