PM YASASVI Scholarship Scheme For OBC, EBC and DNT Students
PM Young Achievers’ Scholarship Award Scheme for a Vibrant India (PM YASASVI) is a Scholarship scheme for students from Other Backward Class (OBCs), Economically Backward Class (EBC) and Denotified Nomadic Tribes (DNT) students. Students can apply for Top Class School/College Education scheme at National Scholarship Portal till 31st January, 2024.
The scheme makes provision for Pre-Matric and Post Matric Scholarship for students with excellent academic performance. Students also get an opportunity of Scholarship to study in Top Class Schools and Colleges under the Top Class School/College Education component of the scheme. By offering complete financial support, the program aims to acknowledge and encourage high-quality education among students who fall into the OBC, EBC, and DNT categories.
Under Pre-Matric and Post- Metric Scholarship component, a consolidated annual academic allowance of Rs. 4000 and Rs. 5000-20,000 will be provided respectively. Under the Top Class School/College Education component the scholarship will cover tuition fee, hostel fee and other charges.

It is to be noted that for the eligibility of students the family annual income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2,50,000.
In order to give students from socially and educationally disadvantaged classes—particularly those from rural areas—better access to high-quality education, the scheme intends to provide hostel facilities so they can pursue secondary and postsecondary education at government schools, universities, institutions, and institutes within reasonable travel distance.
During the 2023-24, Rs 32.44 Crore are released for Pre-matric Scholarship and Rs 387.27 Crore released for Post-Matric Scholarship to States/UTs under PM YASASVI scheme. Till December 2023, Rs 12.75 Crore has also been released to States/UTs for Construction of Hostels for OBC Boys and Girls under PM YASASVI scheme.
In order to build an inclusive society Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment launched the Central Sponsored Schemes (CSS) for vulnerable groups comprising of Other Backward Class (OBCs), Economically Backward Class (EBC) and Denotified, Nomadic Tribes (DNT).
