Sainik School Society Re-opens Portal For Registration (image-www.twitter/sstilaiya)Online registration for applicants to set up new Sainik Schools in partnership mode will begin on September 27. Ministry of Defence has announced that the portal will be re-opened for registration. Interested applicant schools can now register in the official portal. The portal will be open till November 25, 2023. An initiative has been taken by the government to setup 100 new Sainik Schools in partnership mode.
The interested Schools, trusts, NGO’s can go through the Qualitative requirements, Memorandum of Agreement and Rules & Regulations for the new Sainik schools from the portal.
The schools which have registered earlier during the Round-1 and Round-2 does not have to apply again nor pay the registration fee. The schools are given the chance to update their profile on the portal.
Through this scheme, government aims to establish new Sainik Schools to provide quality education to the students in tune with National Education Policy and also to provide better career opportunities, including joining the Armed Forces. This scheme will also allow State governments, NGO’s and private sector to work hand-in-hand with the Central government.
42 new schools are now approved as Sainik School Society. Apart from the 42 approved school, 33 Sainik School already function under the erstwhile pattern.
These new Sainik school will function under the aegis of Sainik school society and will follow the rules and regulation for new Sainik schools in partnership mode prescribed by the society, beside their affiliation to respective education boards. They will also impart education of Academic PLUS curriculum to the students of Sainik Schools pattern.
In October 2021, the union cabinet had approved a proposal of setting up 100 New Sainik Schools in partnership mode with NGO’s, private schools, state governments in all state and union territories.
