
SGOU Induction Programme 2025 Held At Amal College Of Advanced Studies, Nilambur
Nilambur, Kerala; Oct. 19, 2025: The Induction Programme 2025 of Sreenarayana Guru Open University (SGOU) was conducted in collaboration with Amal College of Advanced Studies (Autonomous), Nilambur, on Sunday, October 19, 2025. The programme, according to an official statement, marked the beginning of the academic journey for newly enrolled UG and PG learners under the university.
The event was inaugurated by P.V. Abdul Wahab, Member of Parliament, who is also the Chairman of Amal College. In his inaugural address, Mr Wahab highlighted the pioneering role of Sreenarayanaguru in Kerala’s social renaissance, especially in uplifting the weaker and marginalised sections of society. He recalled how Guru’s inclusive philosophy transcended religion, caste, and creed, advocating equality and enlightenment through education.
He also appreciated the meaningful lines of the University Geetham, which beautifully encapsulates and popularises the Guru’s timeless message of knowledge, unity, and human dignity. Mr Wahab lauded the university’s mission of democratising higher education through flexible, accessible, and learner-centric models of open learning.
Dr. T. Shemeer Babu, Secretary, College Council, delivered the Principal’s address, emphasising the need for academic discipline, self-learning, and value-based education in the open learning environment.

Dr. N. Shihabudheen, Coordinator, SGOU Learner Support Centre (LSC) at Amal College, extended a warm welcome to the gathering and expressed his happiness in collaborating with Sreenarayanaguru Open University. He appreciated the university’s commitment to transparency, learner support, and academic innovation.
The keynote session was led by Ms. Thahani Rezak, Assistant Professor of History, Sreenarayana Guru Open University, who meticulously conducted the induction session. She provided a comprehensive orientation on the university’s structure, academic activities, learner responsibilities, and examination system, offering clear guidance for students to navigate their academic journey effectively.
P.V. Mohammed Muneer, Director, PeeVee Charitable Trust, and Usmanali, Secretary, NMOC, delivered felicitations. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Anagha Padma, Student Coordinator, Amal College.
The induction programme witnessed the participation of around 520 learners, marking a vibrant start to the academic year with enthusiasm and inspiration drawn from the Guru’s life and philosophy.
