ALLEN Student's Protest: What Are Their Demands?

A video showing students protesting in the ALLEN coaching is going viral on social media. The Allen Institute, a private coaching institute, provides coaching to NEET and IIT JEE aspirants, and is facing protests over allegedly misleading students to get into the batches.

The viral video shows that students are demanding to refund of their fees because of the lack of good faculties in the institute. Reportedly, students took admission into batches due to the good faculties teaching them. However, students are now protesting after the coaching institute changed the faculty once the batches were filled.

User on social media gave their reaction to the video and shared their personal similar experiences. One user Kumar Sourav wrote, “Currently I’m studying in achiever phase 6 allen kota in samyak building,the same situation we are also going through there is scarcity of good faculties they are just sending any one of them . We are also facing same circumstances.”

Another user Aryan Gupta wrote, “This is the reality of every coaching institute“.

The coaching business is expanding with bigger revenues as lakhs of students get admission every year. Kota is home to Rs 6,000 crore coaching industry. In Kota only every year from July to January, reportedly, the population rise by 12% by the students who come from different states to prepare for NEET and IIT. Every year over 2 lakh students move to Kota to prepare.

Timeline has contacted Allen for their response on the students’ protests, but we are yet to receive a response from the institute.
