The Netflix and TVF hit student-led drama Kota Factory is back with its third season. The final season of the black-and-white show narrates the struggle of IIT students chasing their dreams. The season 3 of this Netflix series was released today with five episodes.

Making a comeback after three years, the series narrates the story of students who diligently prepare for the IIT entrance exams while dealing with the pressure from family, and peers amid other personal problems. But students are not the only ones struggling. Their tutor, Jeetu Bhaiyya (Jitendra Kumar), has his issues to battle. The third season focuses more around the iconic Jeetu bhaiya and his life while navigating around the lives of his students. It raises the question in the reader’s mind, will the students clear the examination? Will Jeetu Bhaiyya continue as a teacher at Aimers?

Kota Factory gets full points from India Today. “Full points to the makers for highlighting that even though struggle is subjective, it affects everyone in its way. Even though the climax seemed a bit forced to invoke drama, the audience had already anticipated it. Another weak element for me was when one of the student’s parents was introduced. While the characters may be important, the melodrama seemed a little unfit for a show like this. The same goes for Vaibhav’s monologue about the exam dates. Too loud, too forced, yet very ineffective,” says India Today.

NDTV commented on its wider narrative, which it has not done to this extent until now. “Working with a script by Puneet Batra and Pravin Yadav, director Pratish Mehta casts the narrative net wider than usual and brings in elements that go a long way in throwing light on the thought processes of the coaching personnel, something that the series had not done until this point, certainly not to this extent.” Actor Jitendra Kumar also received praises for his consistent performance with impressive control.

Season 3 of Kota Factory feels like a perfect goodbye. “This season too brings a breath of fresh air while giving you a pit in the stomach and makes you feel for young minds delved in preparations. However, the ending puts an exclamation mark on the return of Jeetu Bhaiya and Season 3 seems like a perfect goodbye to all the characters,” reviewed India TV. Overall, the third season seems to have been well-like by all for its well-crafted story and brilliant performances.

Kota Factory Season 3 is perhaps the show’s best season yet. While addressing important issues, the show manages to stay connected with its roots and the essence is maintained.
