Indian National Congress candidate Shakuntala Khatak won the Kalanaur assembly constituency by defeating BJP’s Renu Dabla with 13125 votes. Shakuntla Khatak polled 66469 votes compared to Renu Dabla’s 53344.
Kalanaur is one of the 90 assembly seats in Haryana. The constituency falls under Rohtak district and is reserved for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC).
The seat had attracted considerable attention as multiple candidates vie for electoral success. The candidate who had contested the election are Manish Kumar Grover (BJP), Bharat Bhushan Batra (Congress), Bijendra Hooda (AAP) and Jitender Balhara (JJP).

Congress candidate Shakuntla Khatak won the Kalanaur (SC) constituency in the 2019 elections, with a margin of 10624 votes.
During the 2019 Haryana Assembly election, BJP emerged victorious, bagging 40 of the 90 seats. The BJP formed the government in coalition with Dushyant Chautala-led JJP, which managed to win 10 seats. Meanwhile, the Congress party received 31 seats and the remaining were taken by INLD, Haryana Lokhit Party and independent candidate.
