Amid unpredictable intense fight in Vandre East assembly constituency, Shiv Sena UBT leader Varun Sardesai has secured lead over the rival high-profile candidate Zeeshan Siddique, son of the murdered former minister and prominent NCP leader Baba Siddique. It appears that the sympathy wave has not helped the NCP leader’s son to gain edge in the assembly polls. Siddique had won Vandre East on Congress ticket in 2019.
