Sultanpur Majra Election Result: AAP's Mukesh Kumar Ahlawat Wins A Second Term

Ahlawat first won the Sultanpur Majra assembly seat in 2020.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Mukesh Kumar Ahlawat won a second term by securing 58,767 votes, surpassing Karam Singh Karma of the BJP by a margin of 17,126 votes. Karma secured 41,641 votes.

Ahlawat first won the Sultanpur Majra assembly seat in 2020, defeating BJP’s Ram Chander Chawriya by a margin of 48,052. AAP had a vote share of 66.51 percent in 2020 in the seat.

In the 2020 Assembly elections, Delhi had recorded 61.46 per cent voter turnout for the 70 Assembly constituencies.

In the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections, AAP’s Sandeep Kumar won by defeating BJP’s Parbhu Dayal by a margin of 64,439. AAP had a vote share of 69.5 percent in 2015 in this seat.

Over 699 candidates stood for elections in the national capital, with the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress fielding 70 candidates each. The Bharatiya Janata Party had 68 candidates, with two seats for its allies Janata Dal (United) and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP).

The counting of votes commenced at 7 am, with initial trends emerging by 8 am. The final results are expected by 6 pm, with real-time updates available on the Election Commission’s official websites.

In the 2020 Assembly polls, AAP secured a massive victory, winning 62 seats, while BJP secured 8 seats. However, the Congress failed to garner any seats in the election.
