The chief of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Chandrababu Naidu, an important player in the NDA alliance after his landslide victory in the Andhra Pradesh assembly has now received a massive jump in his net worth.

The company founded by Naidu, Heritage Foods have zoomed up 55 per cent in the last five days. This has led to the rise of Rs 535 crore for Mr Naidu’s wife Nara Bhuvaneshwari, the promoter of the company.

Hours before the election result, the stock was trading at Rs 424 on June 3. But just a few days later, the stock price went up to Rs 661.25. Nara Bhuvaneshwari is the top shareholder of the company and holds 2,26,11,525 stocks, reports NDTV. So with the increase in Heritage Foods share prices, Nara has earned 579 crore in just five days. The stock gave a stellar show between June 3 and June 7.

The rise began soon after the Lok Sabha election results in which the TDP has won 16 of the 17 seats it has contested.

Nara Bhuvaneswari is the daughter of late South Superstar and former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, NT Rama Rao, and his wife Basavatarakam Nandamuri. She is the Vice-Chairperson and Managing Director of Heritage Foods Ltd, of which she has been a part since 1994.

The company has two major divisions- Dairy and Renewable Energy. Apart from Nara who owns a 24.37 percent stake in the company, their son Nara Lokesh also holds a stake of 10.82 percent in Heritage Foods. His daughter-in-law Nara Brahmani is also part of the company and she owns a 0.46 percent stake. And Naidu’s grandson Devansh has a 0.06 percent stake in Heritage Food Ltd.

In the Lok Sabha election, the NDA won 293 seats in the 543-member Lok Sabha. While the BJP has enjoyed a handsome majority in the last two terms, this time had to be content with the 240 seats which is way behind the 272 mark needed to form the government.
