In 2023 Telangana State Assembly elections, BRS candidate Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao,the first and incumbent chief minister of Telangana won against BJP candidate Eatala Rajender with a margin of 45031 votes. Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao of TRS was the winning candidate in the last two assembly elections held in Gajwel and BRS won the seat for the third time in a raw. Chandrashekar secured 111684 votes while, Rajender secured 66653 votes. INC candidate Thoomkunta narsa Reddy who came third secured 32568 votes. The total valid votes are 232417.
The Telangana assembly election was held on 30th November 2023 for 119 seats. There are 6 Mandal”s in Gajwel assembly- Gajwel, Toopran, Kondapaka, Wargal, Mulug and Jagadevpur.
The Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao of TRS won by securing 86694 votes against Pratap Reddy Vanteru of TDP who secured 67303 votes in 2014 assembly elections. INC‘s Tumkunta Narsa Reddy came third with 34085 votes.The Gajwel constituency had 233636 voters in 2014 assembly election then.
In 2018, Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao won against Pratap Reddy Vanteru of INC as the former secured 125444 votes and the later secured 67154. Kante Sayanna, who contested as an independent candidate, secured 3533 votes .The total electorate was 233260 in 2018 then.
Overall, according to the latest report, out of the total 119 seats, INC won in 64 seats while BHRS secured 39 seats. Along with Telangana, assembly elections were held in four other states including Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram. The results of these four states was also announced today except for Mizoram. The results of Mizoram will be announced on December 4.
