Telangana Election Results: Marri Rajashekar Reddy Wins Malkajgiri Assembly

BRS candidate Marri Rajashekar Reddy defeated INC’s current member of Malkajgiri constituency Mynampally Hanumanth Rao by margin of 49530 votes. Rajashekar Reddy secured125049 votes and Hanumanth Rao secured 75519 came second. BJP candidate Ramachander Rao N who came third has secured 55427 votes. The total valid votes were 265411 votes.

The elections to Telangana State Assembly was held on 30th November 2023 for 119 seats. Malkajgiri Assembly constituency is a constituency of Telangana Legislative Assembly. TRS party won in the last two assembly elections held in Malkajgiri constituency.

In 2014 assembly elections, C Kanaka Reddy of TRS defeated N Ram Chander Rao of BJP.  Kanaka Reddy secured 77132 votes and Ram Chander secured 74364 votes. INC ‘s Nandhikanti Sridhar came third with 37201 votes. The total voters were 446875 in 2014 then.

In 2018 assembly election TRS‘s Mynampally Hanumanth Rao won against BJP‘s N Ramachander Rao by the margin of 74000 votes. Hanumanth Rao got 114149 votes and Ramachander got 40451 votes. Rao left BRS party in 2023, citing dissatisfaction over ticket distribution. Later he and his son Rohit joined INC and was nominated to contest as Congress in 2023 election. BJP was unable to defeat TRS in the last two elections and BJP’s margin decreased by 12.9, meanwhile TRS’s margin increased by 21.7%. This time TJS’s Kapilavai Dileep Kumar came third .The total voters were 393868 in 2018 then.

Along with Telangana, assembly elections were held in four other states including Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram. The results of these four states was also announced today except for Mizoram. The results of Mizoram will be announced on December 4.
