In the significant electoral development in Telangana, the constituency of Mudhole emerged as a stronghold for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Out of the 8 seats which BJP gained in Telangana, Mudhole is one among them. The BJP candidate, Ramrao Pawar, secured a noteworthy victory by garnering 98,252 votes, claiming a substantial lead of 23,999 votes against Gaddigari Vittal Reddy of the Bharath Rashtra Samithi (BRS) who secured 74,253 votes. The Indian National Congress candidate, Bhosle Rao Patil, lagged behind with a mere 15,588 votes.
Mudhole Assembly constituency is is one of 3 constituencies in Nirmal district. It comes under Adilabad Lok Sabha constituency along with 6 other Assembly constituencies.The Assembly Constituency presently comprises 8 mandals, Mudhole,Kuntala, Kubeer,Bhainsa, Lokeswaram,Tanoor, Basar, Nasarpur.
In the 2014 election, Gaddigari Vittal Reddy, the then member of the Indian National Congress who later merged to TRS emerged victorious in the Mudhole constituency with a substantial lead of 63,322 votes against BJP”s Padakanti Ramadevi. The electoral battle also witnessed Dr. A Venugopalachary securing 43,540 votes for the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).
The 2023 election in Telangana is in favour of the Indian National Congress, as it secured a significant victory by capturing approximately 65 seats. In contrast, the Bharatiya Janata Party faced set back securing only 8 seats, while the Bharath Rashtra Samiti gained around 44 seats.
