Union Home Minister Amit Shah warned Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann that the ruling AAP government would not last long after the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) secures a win in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Shah further accused the state government, led by Mann, of corruption. Asking whether Mann is the state chief minister or the “personal pilot” to the Delhi chief minister, Shah added, “There is one good thing he did that he (Mann) did, not go with (Kejriwal) to jail.
“Main batata hu, yeh Bhagwant Mann ki sarkaar yaha BJP ke vijay ke baad lamba chalne wali nahi hai (I’m telling you, the Bhagwant Mann government will not last long after the BJP wins here),” Shah warned while attending a rally for the BJP”s Ravneet Bittu, the Ludhiana candidate for the upcoming phase seven of the Lok Sabha elections.
Furthermore, Shah stated that Kejriwal is going back to jail after the elections and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will go to Thailand and Bangkok after June 6, before adding that PM Modi did not take “a single leave in these ten years as he is serving the nation.”
Reacting to Shah’s remarks, Trinamool Congress leader Saket Gokhale slammed the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha candidate for “shamelessly and brazenly saying that he’ll topple an elected state govt.” Gokhale took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and criticised, “Amit Shah openly saying he’ll topple the elected govt of Punjab if BJP gets even a few seats. He isn’t even making development or welfare promises.”

Journalist Abhishek questioned whether Shah is “threatening a coup in the state of Punjab?” He said, “If you elect some people from Punjab in Lok Sabha elections, then Bhagwant Mann govt won’t be able to last long after the BJP govt comes to power.”

Meanwhile, Kejriwal slammed the central government-led by Narendra Modi of withholding 9000 crore rupees allotted to Punjab. “This money was to be used to build roads in every village and mohalla clinics. Why does Modi government hate the people of Punjab so much? Why is the right of the people of Punjab being withheld? BJP should answer this?
