Congress candidate Anil Mangulkar secured victory with 1,13,744 votes. Mangulkar secured the victory with a margin of 9,708 votes, surpassing BJP and three-term MLA Madan Madhukar Yerawar who secured 10,4036 votes so far.
In the last assembly elections, Madan Madhukar Yerawar of BJP won the seat by a margin of 2,253 votes, defeating Congress member Anil Alias Balasaheb Shankarrao Mangulkar. BJP had a vote share of 37.28 percent in 2019 in this seat.
A total of 22 candidates were in the fray for the Yavatmal Assembly seat in the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly election.

This assembly polls mark first one in the state after Shiv Sena and NCP split in 2022, and 2023 respectively.
In the 2019 Assembly elections, the BJP secured 105 seats, the undivided Shiv Sena 56, and the Congress 44. In 2014, the BJP won 122 seats, the Shiv Sena and the Congress garnered 63, and 42 seats, respectively.
In the 2014 state Assembly elections, Yerawar of BJP won in this seat defeating Santosh Marotrao Dhavale of Shiv Sena by a margin of 1,227 which was 0.6% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 26.41% in 2014 in this seat.

In the 2009 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Congress candidate Nilesh Shivram Deshmukh Parvekar won the seat defeating Yerawar by a margin of 19,875 which was 12.23 percent of the total votes cast for the seat. Congress had a vote share of 34.69 percent in 2009 in this seat.

The BJP has fielded 149 candidates, Shiv Sena (Shinde) 81, and NCP (Ajit Pawar) 59. In the opposition, the Congress has fielded 101 candidates, Shiv Sena (UBT) 95, and NCP (Sharad Pawar) 86.
