Shah Rukh Khan in grey roles are always a treat to behold. To watch him rule screens as Don was pure bliss for the eyes. The cynic laugh and wicked swag can never be forgotten. It’s been 18 years since the release of Don 2, and still “Don ko pakadna abhi bhi mushkil hi nahi, na mumkin hai”.

The ‘Bollywood Baadshah’ has turned the tides on his own directions. He started off with negative roles. His first big screen debut were roles that were rejected by many well established superstars.

And may be for the first time, Shah Rukh Khan made audience fall in love with the villain, and praise him more than the hero. Right from the beginning, Khan’s presence over shadowed every other actors and actress in the film.

Contrary to what he was perceived for – a romantic hero- Khan loved grey roles. He relishes the roles and it’s an absolute delight to watch.

Baazigar, Anjaam, Darr, Don, and Don 2 are some of the movies in which Khan aced characters departed from the conventional noble traits of a hero. It was all pure villainism, and still people loved him.

Shah Rukh Khan inked himself as Don inside audience’s heart. Though the role was earlier aced by Amitabh Bachchan, Khan’s portrayal casted shadow over it.

Now as Farhan Akhtar has announced Don 3 with Ranveer Singh, disappointment was visible in voices on social media platforms. Not because Singh is a less compatible actor, but because it is “na mumkin (impossible)” to replace Khan. Fans wonder how in the world can anyone match the wicked swag of Shah Rukh Khan as Don.
