'Athiradi’ Title Teaser Out: Vineeth Sreenivasan Narrates The Fan-Favourite Basil-Tovino Fun Rivalry
Celebrated Malayalam filmmaker and actor Basil Joseph has unveiled the official title teaser of his upcoming production, “Athiradi”, on Saturday, generating a wave of excitement among fans.
The project marks Basil’s debut as a producer, and he is teaming up with Dr Ananthu S, founder of Xylem Learning, under the banners Basil Joseph Entertainment and Dr Ananthu S Entertainment.
Directed by Arun Anirudhan, Athiradi features writing credits shared between Paulson Skaria and Arun himself, with Vishnu Vijay composing the music, Samuel Henry handling cinematography, and Chaman Chakko on editing.

The production boasts a talented crew, including Maanav Suresh as production designer, Mashar Hamsa for costumes, Ronex Xavier for makeup, Nixon George for sound design, and Suhail Koya providing the lyrics.
The title teaser, which dropped today, also features Vineeth Sreenivasan narrating a playful rivalry between Tovino Thomas and Basil Joseph, hinting at a fun story of friendly vengeance, which has already struck a chord with audiences, especially because of the much-loved Basil-Tovino combo.
While the teaser itself does not reveal much of the storyline, fans have been quick to appreciate the energy, style, and trademark humour that Basil Joseph is known for. Shooting for the film is slated to begin soon, with fans eagerly waiting to see this collaboration unfold on screen.
Basil playfully introduced his production house, unveiling a quirky cartoon animation logo featuring a superhero baby playfully toppling the Leaning Tower of Pisa in September.

Social media is abuzz with speculation that the debut production may revisit the superhero genre, following Basil’s groundbreaking work in Minnal Murali (2021), though nothing has been officially confirmed.
Basil Joseph, born in Sultan Bathery, Wayanad in 1989, has steadily risen as one of Malayalam cinema’s most versatile filmmakers and actors. Starting his career assisting Vineeth Sreenivasan in Thira (2013), he made his directorial debut with Kunjiramayanam (2015), followed by hits like Godha (2017) and the superhero spectacle Minnal Murali (2021).
As an actor, he has also delivered memorable performances in films such as Jan.E.Man (2021), Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey (2022), Palthu Janwar (2022), Falimy (2023), Nunakkuzhi (2024), and Ponman (2025), earning the admiration of audiences for his versatility and charm.
Fans and industry colleagues alike have expressed excitement over Basil’s new journey. Close collaborator Tovino Thomas, who starred alongside Basil in Minnal Murali, humorously hinted at wanting the lead role in this first production.
