Music in Amrit Ramnath”s blood. Son of veteran singer-composer Bombay Jayashri, the indie artist is turning music director for a feature film, Vineeth Sreenivasan”s latest directorial, Varshangalkku Shesham. The movie hits theaters on April 11, and songs have already been released.

Amrit Ramnath has been in the field of independent music for a while. “Manase”, a Tamil melody that he composed in the last year, has garnered a lot of listeners. His songs “Kaatre Va”, “Megangal”, “Oorkurvi”, and “Nila” are entirely different yet soulful compositions.

Composing Varshangalkku Shesham was not easy for Amrit Ramnath, as he was going through difficult times on the personal front. Since his mother got hospitalised for an unexpected health setback, he composed music during the time she was undergoing recovery. He has organised a mini-studio in the hospital room and created songs while attending to his mother. “I am so grateful I was part of the project then because it helped me during the difficult time. I could channel all my emotions into the songs,” Amrit Ramnath told On Manorama. She has written the lyrics for the song “Nyabagam” from the movie, while she was regaining health.

When “Madhu Pakaroo”, the first song from the movie was released, it became an instant success. Soon after “Nyabagam” was released, the melodious song touched our hearts. “The first time you guys listen to this song, try listening to it when u r completely alone in ur personal space with your headphones on. It will touch ur soul. @amritramnath has created this song with such pure intent,” Vineeth Sreenivasan wrote about “Nyabagam” on his Instagram handle.

Music plays a huge role in Vineeth Sreenivasan“s films. The Vineeth Sreenivasan-Shaan Rahman combo has created magic, and it still hits the top of the charts. And his last film, Hridayam, which marked the director”s first collaboration with Hesham Abdul Wahab, has also been widely celebrated. There are hardly any musical lovers who hum “Darshana,” and Darshana fever still carries on. Besides, Hesham Abdul Wahab has received the Kerala State Film Award for Best Music Director for Hridayam.
