
Saina Nehwal And P Kashyap Announce Separation After Seven Years of Marriage
Indian badminton stars Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap have confirmed their separation after seven years of marriage. The couple, who tied the knot in December 2018 following a decade-long courtship, shared the news through a statement on Saina Nehwal’s official Instagram handle.
“Life sometimes takes us in different directions. After much deliberation and thought, Kashyap and I have decided to go our separate ways,” Saina wrote.

“We are choosing this path for ourselves and mutual peace and growth. Thank you for the wonderful memories you have given us so far. We wish you all the best for your future. Thank you for respecting our privacy and understanding during this time,” the post further read.
The couple’s union was often celebrated as one of the most admired relationships in Indian Sports. Both Saina and Kashyap were prominent names in Indian badminton, having trained together under coach Pullela Gopichand, and frequently represented the country at international tournaments.

Saina Nehwal, one of India’s most decorated badminton players, is a bronze medalist at the 2012 London Olympics and a two-time Commonwealth Games gold medalist, having won the title in both 2010 (Delhi) and 2018 (Gold Coast). She also held the World No. 1 ranking in 2015, becoming the first Indian woman to achieve this feat.
P. Kashyap, meanwhile, made history by becoming the first Indian male shuttler to reach the quarterfinals of the Olympics in London 2012. He clinched the gold medal at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games and was conferred with the Arjuna Award the same year for his contributions to Indian sports.
