Actor And CPIM MLA Mukesh Arrested

CPIM MLA Mukesh arrested. Rape case was filed against the actor and politician. Case of sexual misconduct was filed against the actor in the wake of the #MeToo movement in Mollywood. He was arrested by the special investigation team probing case.

The FIR against the actor-politician has been registered at Maradu Police Station under IPC Section 376 (rape), a non-bailable offence.

Reportedly, the actor was questioned for three hours before being released on bail. He refused to answer questions posed by the media after his arrest and subsequent release.

The release of Justice K Hema Committee report concerning sexual harassment and abuse in the Malayalam film industry has opened up many allegations against the Kollam MLA.

He faced a set of allegations from a junior artist. As per the artist’s claim, Mukesh misbehaved during his visit to her friend’s house. The artist’s friend has also been working as a junior artist in cinema.

Earlier, the CPM State Secretariat said that they have decided to take action as per the High Court’s stance. However, a section of leaders has expressed anger over the party’s decision. Some upheld their view that Mukesh is not a leader who has worked extensively for the party.

Reports also emerge that he got out in anticipatory bail.
