Alleged Harasser Savad, With Prior Case, Arrested Again For Misconduct On KSRTC Bus In Thrissur
Thrissur, Kerala: Kozhikode native Savad, a repeat offender with a prior history of sexual misconduct, was arrested once again on Friday evening by the Thrissur East Police for allegedly harassing a young woman onboard a KSRTC bus. The incident reportedly occurred on June 14 during a journey from Thrissur to Malappuram.
According to the reports, the arrest was made following a complaint lodged by the victim, who stated that Savad had behaved indecently and offensively during the bus journey. The complaint was registered at the Thrissur East Police Station shortly after the incident, prompting immediate action by law enforcement authorities.

This is not the first time Savad has faced such charges. In 2023, he was arrested in connection with a similar case near Nedumbassery. In that instance, he allegedly exposed himself to a woman travelling on a KSRTC bus en route from Thrissur to Ernakulam. Savad had reportedly boarded the bus at Angamaly and seated himself between two women before engaging in obscene behaviour.
The woman involved in the 2023 case alerted the bus conductor, after which Savad attempted to flee when the vehicle came to a stop. However, he was apprehended with the assistance of the conductor and fellow passengers and subsequently handed over to the police.
The incident had sparked widespread outrage, particularly after the victim shared video evidence on social media, bringing the matter to public attention.

What added to the controversy was the fact that, following his release in 2023, Savad was reportedly given a public welcome by a little-known group called the “All Kerala Men’s Association.” The act was met with strong criticism from across the political spectrum and civil society, with many condemning it as a blatant endorsement of criminal behaviour.
Social media platforms have once again seen an outpouring of anger, with many questioning the apparent ease with which repeat offenders can reenter public spaces.
