A 37-year-old woman from Thrissur district from Kerala gave birth on a KSRTC bus on Wednesday afternoon while travelling from Thrissur to Thottilpalam in Kozhikode. The woman experienced labour pain once the bus reached the Peramangalam Police station. The bus was then immediately taken to Amala hospital and was given immediate care after the delivery.

The video of the incident in which the woman is provided with arrangements assisting child labour is now circulating on social media.
The hospital staffs were happy to successfully deliver the baby outside the healthcare unit. The footage also includes the joyous reaction of the female staff after successful delivery.
The woman during the bus journey experienced severe labor pain after the bus travelled a distance from the Peramangalam area. When the bus driver came to know about the situation, he took a quick call and diverted the transport towards Thrissur. The bus staff also alerted the Amala hospital before-hand.
As soon as the bus arrived at the location, the doctors immediately shifted her to the ward after performing the necessary procedures within the bus.
“As the KSRTC staff realised that the lady was experiencing pain, she was brought to the hospital. The bus reached her by 12.30 in the afternoon. The delivery was almost completed. The doctors and nurses helped to take the child out,” said the spokesperson of Amala Hospital, reports The New Indian Express. Serina, the mother of five children who was in her ninth month was on her way to the hospital.
Hospital officials have reassured that both the mother and the baby girl are in good health and did not encounter any kind of complication during the delivery.
