Mollywood is gearing up for the release of the most anticipated Mammootty-starrer action-drama Turbo. The Malayalam cinema industry is currently experiencing the blockbuster phase and Turbo is expected to make its mark. The promising actress Anjana Jayapraksh who has made her debut in the Malayalam industry through Akhil Sathyan’s film ‘Pachuvum Athbhutha Vilakkum’ is portrayed as ‘Indulekha’ in the upcoming Mammooty film. 

Anjana has already captivated the audiences with her marvelous performance in Fahad Fasil’s film. With her role in the film as “Hamsadwani“, Anjana has now risen to be one of the most discussed characters in Mollywood. 

A Keralite by origin, Anjana was born in Dubai and brought up in Sharjah. She moved to India after completing her school education. Before entering into the film industry, Anjana was pursuing a B.Tech degree in Fashion Technology at Kumaraguru College of Technology in Coimbatore.  

Anjana Jayaprakash was earlier selected to do the character ‘Selin’ for the film ‘Premam’. But after shooting few sequences, Anjana was later removed from the film. 

The young actress has also garnered acclaim for her roles in the web series ‘Queen’. However, her acting debut was with the Tamil thriller movie ‘Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru’. She has also acted in a music video Sun Le Zara and also took the helms of directing a music video Rimjhim gire sawan by the artist Simran Sehgal

The lead actor Mammootty during a promotional event, while answering a question regarding the underrepresentation of female leads in the industry, stated that ‘Turbo’ revolves around the conflict created by the lead female character. “This female lead character is in no way to Turbo Jose; she is a prominent character who traps Jose into the main conflict,” he said. This narrative from the film star promises that Anjana will be portrayed in a pivotal role and her character ‘Indulekha’ plays the narrative. 

However, ‘Turbo’ is said to be a significant film in Mammootty’s illustrious career. Helmed by Vysakh and penned by Midhun Manuel Thomas, Turbo is bankrolled by Mammootty under the banner of his Mammootty Kampany.
