The re-release is a celebration of nostalgia, charisma, and a timeless character that continues to live in the hearts of Malayali cinema lovers. Originally slated to hit theatres on May 21 to mark Mohanlal’s 65th birthday, the release was briefly postponed to avoid overlap with the continuing blockbuster run of his recent film Thudarum, which crossed a staggering ₹200 crore worldwide. Now, on June 6, Chotta Mumbai makes its grand comeback — and theatres are already filling up.

In Kozhikode, fans can watch Chotta Mumbai at the following theatres:

  • Mirage Theatre

  • Palaxi

  • Gokulam Cinepolis

  • Ashirvad Cinemas

  • ARC Cinemas

Directed by Anwar Rasheed and written by Benny P. Nayarambalam, Chotta Mumbai was a box office smash when it released in 2007. The film follows the chaotic and comical life of Vasco da Gama (Mohanlal), a Kochi-based rogue with a heart of gold, and his group of misfit friends as they stumble through one misadventure after another. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Kalabhavan Mani, Siddique, Jagathy Sreekumar, Bhavana, and Indrajith Sukumaran.
