The Atlee directorial Jawan is more like a Tamil film with a Bollywood icon in its centre. But with the exceptional cast and crew, Atlee blurred the lines between Bollywood and regional cinema and took Jawan as an “Indian cinema”.
In the extensive lineup of skilled talents comprising the cast and crew of Jawan, the standout name is undoubtedly that of Nayanthara. The discussions were all around what she has to do with this multi-starrer action drama and how she could pull of this mass Bollywood-South collaboration.
After the release of the movie, multiple reviews are coming on how Nayanthara”s debut Bollywood performance could be rated. Her fans are left awestruck with “Nayans” performance as a cop.
She played the role of the police officer who is seen chasing Shah Rukh Khan”s heist character, and managed to do justice to her reputation as the ‘Lady Superstar’ once again.
Her role has substance and is part of the plot twists where she carries forward the story in the first half. But when comparing to Deepika Padukone, who has a special appearance in the movie, Nayans performance level at points marks a stark slow down. The movie presents a first-rate cast with Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Ridhi Dogra and Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt in special appearances.
Jawan, an Anirudh musical, is the second release of Shah Rukh Khan in 2023. The movie has already raised a huge anticipation after the box-office record breaking of ‘Pathaan’ this year .
