How They Remembered 20 Years Of Kal Ho Na Ho

On Tuesday, Kal Ho Na Ho, one of the iconic Bollywood movie, marked 20 years since its release. Karan Johar and Preity Zinta took a trip down the memory lane recalling precious moments they shared during the filming of the “story that has a beating heart”.

Karan Johar penned down an emotional note on his Instagram about Kal Ho Na Ho that “still beat strong”. For Karan Johar, Kal Ho Na Ho was “such an emotional journey”. He wrote that, “for me this was the last film that my father was part of from the Dharma family…it feels surreal to have his presence in every frame as I rewatch it even today”.

Preity Zinta called Kal Ho Na Ho as the “saddest happy” film she did. She also remembered Yash Johar, the producer of the movie. Kal Ho Na Ho was his last movie. She wrote, “I will forever be grateful to Yash Uncle for making this incredible film. It was the last time he was on set. There will never be anyone like you”.

Preity played the role of an introverted heroine, Naina who fell in love with her neighbour Amar (Shah Rukh Khan). Though Amar loved Naina, could not pursue her due to his fatal illness.

Kal Ho Na Ho was the product of the Johar father-son duo, Yash Johar and his son Karan Johar, and was produced under their production banner, Dharma Production. Helmed by Nikhil Advani, the movie was released November 28, 2003. It was a directorial debut of Mr. Advani. Kal Ho Na Ho is an intense emotional ride featuring Shah Rukh khan, Preity Zinta, Jaya Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan and many more.

Kal Ho Na Ho still holds its position as one of the iconic Bollywood drama. With the intensity of the emotions the movie portrayed, it is one of the favourites of all the SRK fans across the globe for taking them through all the nuances of unrequited love, selflessness, care and affection along with Amar.
