"I will Not Apologise" For The Nepotism Allegations, Says Karan Johar. (image @ karanjohar)
- Bollywood film maker Karan Johar reacted to several nepotism allegations thrown at him. In a recent interview he stated that he is indifferent to allegations as he has taken the “high road”.
Bollywood”s very own “KJo” refused to apologise to allegations hurled at him for launching “nepo kids” in his movies. When asked whether he ever felt apologetic or felt that every step he takes misfires, the Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani director unapologetically answered that he will not apologise for who he chose to caste in his movies.
He even referred Alia Bhatt, whom he launched in 2012 in his movie Student Of The Year along with Siddharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan, as his first child. He said, “I haven”t and will not apologise for anything. I will cast who I feel is right. If that person happens to be to somebody in the industry then so be it. Alia is like my first child. I will always love her in public, in person and she will always be part of my life and you can keep saying things, you can all me what you want”.
He also said that the negetivity is only eating up the person who produce it and not him. “I”m rising above. I”ve taken the high road and when you take the high road in life, you cannot change the way of your being because of what people say”, he said during a chat with Mid-day.
He further added that, if he happens to cast anyone having family background from the film industry, it would only be a privilege for the start but later its up to his/her tenacity and mettle to continue in the movie industry.
From Kuch Kuch Hota Hai to Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, Mr. Johar proved himself to be a maverick film maker delivering his audience with a splendid varieties of genres.
Katan Johar is a single father to Roohi and Yash who were conceived through surrogacy in 2017. He is the son of veteran film producer Yash Johar and Hiroo Johar. His next movie to be released is Kill which he co produce with Sikhya Entertainment.
