Influencer Tanya Mittal Faces Backlash Over “Terrorism Has No Religion” Remark
Social media influencer and entrepreneur Tanya Mittal has found herself at the centre of a storm following her recent comments in the wake of the devastating terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 people.
Mittal, who boasts over 1.8 million followers on Instagram and is known for her motivational content and entrepreneurial ventures, sparked intense backlash after stating, “Terrorism has no religion.” The remark, made during a sensitive time of national mourning, quickly went viral, triggering outrage among a section of her followers and netizens who accused her of downplaying the gravity of the attack.

In an attempt to clarify her position, Mittal said, “Saying anything on this issue is critical and sensitive for me. In the media, there is talk of terrorists and terrorism. I, on the other hand, think terrorism has no religion.”
She went on to add that her friends were helped by local Kashmiris during the crisis and emphasised unity by saying, “India has only one religion — Bhartiya (Indian). We are all Indians, and we are together in this.”
Despite her call for unity, the statement triggered a wave of criticism online, with some users even calling for a boycott of her content and brand.
