Jaime Lannister Meets Idli-Vada: Game Of Thrones Star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Spotted In Bengaluru

Danish actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, best known for portraying the valiant (and complicated) Jaime Lannister in Game of Thrones, was spotted enjoying a classic South Indian breakfast in Bengaluru on Saturday, the authentic idli and vada.

Dressed casually in jeans and a tee, the Emmy-nominated star dropped by the popular Rameshwaram Café with friends, blending in effortlessly with the morning crowd.

For a while, he went unrecognised, until a sharp-eyed fan discreetly filmed him tucking into his meal, leading to a viral moment on social media.

“JAIME LANNISTER traded his sword for a plate of idli-vada. Spotted him at @therameshwaramcafe today and I’m NOT OKAY,” read the caption of the viral video clip shared by a fan.

In the video, Coster-Waldau is seen seated at a table with a large group, happily chatting and sampling a variety of traditional delicacies like dosa, vada, and idli.

Another image that surfaced later shows the actor posting outside the café, beaming with friends. The caption playfully read, “Westeros just met Bengaluru spice! Thank you, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, for dining with us at The Rameshwaram Cafe.”

This isn’t the first time a Game of Thrones star has made their way to India. Actress Emilia Clarke, famously known as Daenerys Targaryen, had earlier been spotted exploring parts of the country.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau will soon be seen in the upcoming historical TV epic King and Conqueror, in which he plays William the Conqueror. The series is scheduled to premiere on August 24, 2025, and is already drawing considerable anticipation among fans of period dramas.

Beyond acting, the Danish star is also known for his advocacy work as a UNDP Goodwill Ambassador, using his platform to support global causes like gender equality and climate change.
