"Muthuvel Pandian's Hunt Begins": Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Jailer 2' Shoot Begins Today (Image-X/sunpictures)
The hunt begins here! The highly anticipated sequel to director Nelson and actor Rajinikanth’s action entertainer Jailer 2 has officially begun production today, March 10.
The production house of the film, Sun Pictures, announced the start of the project today on its social media handle. Reminding the return of Hunter on a mission, the makers wrote, “Muthuvel Pandian’s hunt begins! #Jailer2 shoot starts today.”
The filming is expected to commence in Chennai before moving to other locations, including Goa, Theni and more. This sequel is expected to bring back the characters of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and Kannada superstar Shiv Rajkumar, who surprised the audience with their cameo presence in the prequel. However, there is no official information regarding their involvement.

In January, the makers announced the sequel with a blasting announcement teaser. The teaser features Anirudh Ravichander and director Nelson, who were seen discussing a new script while relaxing. However, their relaxed moment was interrupted by random men being shot or hit with an axe.
Slowly, Rajinikanth enters the frame carrying a gun in one hand, and it’s revealed that he is behind the bloodshed. The teaser ends with the superstar blasting a bomb on his enemies and reaffirming his rule as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian.

Jailer, released in 2022, created an excellent box office record by collecting around Rs 650 crores at the box office and emerged as the second highest-grossing Tamil film of all time. Apart from Superstar, the film also features Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah, Vasanth Ravi, Yogi Babu, Shivaraj Kumar, Mohanlal, and others. This sequel is also expected to create records at the box office.
