As reports on the UK leg of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’ wedding at Stoke Park are doing rounds on social media, a spokesperson of the Reliance Industries Limited has clarified that ‘there are no wedding celebrations planned at the estate this summer.’

In a post on X, journalist Paranjoy Guha Thakurta, who earlier shared about Anant’s wedding celebration in the UK’s Stoke Park, said that he deleted the post as a spokesperson of the Reliance made the it clear to him. He said that he shared the report because he picked it from a publication he considered reliable. “But I was wrong. My apologies to all concerned,” wrote Thakurta while withdrawing his earlier post.

Several media in the UK and India reported that the billionaire businessman had planned a lavish party as part of the Anant and Radhika’s wedding in the UK, pointing out that he has booked the prestigious Stoke Park in Berkshire until September for the post-wedding celebrations.

Citing British daily The Independent, news outlets reported that the Ambani family had purchased the seven-star hotel – Stoke Park Country Club – in 2021 for a whopping Rs 614 crore (£57 million) for the UK celebration of the couple’s wedding. It also highlighted that British royalty Prince Harry expressed interest in attending the wedding party of the son of Asia’s richest man.

The Stoke Park, however, refuted reports of the plan for an Indian wedding in the estate on social media. “No wedding celebrations planned at the estate this summer,” it said.
