Sameer Wankhede Files Defamation Suit Against Aryan Khan’s Directorial Debut 'Ba**ds Of Bollywood'

Former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officer SRameer Wankhede has moved the Delhi High Court against Aryan Khan’s directorial debut The Ba**ds of Bollywood. The Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer filed the suit before the High Court seeking an injunction against the upcoming Netflix show.

Wankhede claims the series disseminates a misleading and negative portrayal of anti-drug enforcement agencies, which erodes public confidence in law enforcement institutions.

He says his portrayal in the series was false, malicious and defamatory. The officer has sought damages of Rs 2 crore against the show’s producer, Red Chillies Entertainment, owned by actor Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri Khan, as well as Netflix and others.

The suit, according to the series, deliberately conceptualised and executed with the intent to malign Wankhede’s reputation in a colourable and prejudicial manner. The case  involving him and Aryan khan is pending and sub-judice before the Bombay High Court and Special NDPS Court in Mumbai.

The petitioner officer said that the damages will  be donated to the Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital for treatment of cancer patients if granted.
