Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has added a feather to her cap as she is all set to explore her journey as a producer with the Telugu horror comedy, Subham. Teaming up with director Praveen Kandregula, Samantha promises to bring something fresh to the horror comedy genre for the audience to enjoy through her Telugu production.

Samantha’s first production venture is produced under her banner Tralala Moving Pictures. It will hit the theatres tomorrow, May 9.  As the promising journey of the film begins tomorrow, here are some interesting facts about the film that will double the excitement.

The interesting cast of Subham

The hilarious horror comedy brings together a bunch of talents with actors like Harshith Reddy, Gavireddy Srinivas, Charan Peri, Shriya Kontham, Shravani Lakshmi, Shalini Kondepudi and Vamshidhar Goud, with a few others, who are making their debut through this film.

Subham—A hilarious dig on Husbands and TV serials

At its core, Subham revolves around three husbands and their wife possessed with serial ghosts. Set in a small town, Subham explores the contrasting mentalities of a husband and wife who are addicted to daily soaps in general. While exploring diverse themes, the film also takes a dig at the toxic and regressive nature of TV serials.

Samantha’s first production

Subham is a crucial film for Samantha, who turned into a producer by bankrolling the film. On beginning her journey as a producer, Samantha said that it all began during her 2-year break that she took due to her battle with myositis. She also reminisced that Himank Duvurru, the co-partner of Tralala, is the one who encouraged the actress to explore the production aspects of cinema.

Describing the period as “tough”, Samantha said that she planned to start the venture as it kept her fighting and moving forward.

Adding to the excitement, the exceptional actress also makes a special cameo appearance in the film. Based on the trailer, the character of Samantha will be adding the ‘masala’ of extra humor in the promised funny ride.
