The fire department and local authorities quickly launched a search operation. Unfortunately, his mortal remains were recovered from the river later that evening. A case has been filed at the Kollur police station, and an investigation into the incident is currently in progress.

Due to this unfortunate demise of the junior artist, the shoot of the film was briefly put on hold. The incident adds to the growing list of setbacks faced by the makers of the film Kantara: Chapter 1.

Hurdles faced by Kantara team

This isn’t the first time that the team of Kantara: Chapter 1 has faced hurdles due to unforeseen circumstances. In November 2024, a bus carrying nearly 20 junior artists overturned at Kollur while returning from Mudur after completing the shoot in Jadkal. Fortunately, no major injuries were reported.

In yet another setback, a large and expensive set was destroyed by sudden wind and rain. Apart from this, the film’s crew also faced scrutiny from the forest department for allegedly disrupting the natural habitat during filming.
