Vijay Antony’s Crime Thriller ‘Maargan’ Set For June 27 Release: First 6-Minute Teaser Premieres Tomorrow

The anticipation around ‘Maargan’, the upcoming Tamil-language crime thriller starring Vijay Antony, has taken a new leap with the announcement that the first 6 minutes of the film will be officially released tomorrow at 6 PM.

Helmed by acclaimed editor Leo John Paul in his directorial debut, Maargan is produced under the Vijay Antony Film Corporation and marks yet another collaboration between Vijay Anthony and some of the most promising talents in the Tamil film industry. The movie is slated for a theatrical release on June 27, 2025, and will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Vijay Antony leads the film as ADGP Dhruv, an upright and relentless officer based in Mumbai. Alongside him, the film features: Ajay Dhishan as Tamilarivu (marking his acting debut), P. Samuthirakani as Muthuvel Rajan, Brigida Saga as Inspector Shruthi Selvaraj, Mahanadi Shankar, Prithika, Vinod Sagar, Deepshikha, KPY Archana, Kanimozhi, Kumar Natarajan, and Ramachandran Durairaj in supporting roles and Vijay Antony’s nephew Ajay Dhishan, V.

After his films Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan and Hitler in 2024, Vijay Antony reunited with Leo John Paul for this project, which was initially codenamed VAFC12. The film was first titled Gagana Maargan and officially announced on October 16, 2024. It was later renamed simply as ‘Maargan’ on May 14, 2025, for undisclosed reasons.

The project wrapped filming in early October 2024. Apart from directing, Leo John Paul also handled the editing, ensuring his signature crisp storytelling style. Cinematography is by Yuva S, and art direction is handled by Raja A.

The music for Maargan is both composed and produced by Vijay Antony, continuing his tradition of scoring for his own films. The album features:

1. “Solliduma” – Lyrics by Laavardhan, sung by Vijay Antony

2. “Ulagaye Muzhuvathum Verukkiren” – Lyrics by Arun Bharathi, sung by Akshara. The second single was released recently on June 23, 2025, to strong fan response.
