In response to the detection of a COVID-19 sub-variant JN.1 in Kerala, the Karnataka government has mandated individuals aged 60 and above, with comorbidities, and experiencing symptoms like cough, phlegm, and fever to wear face masks. Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao stated that officials have been directed to conduct increased tests for those with such symptoms, handle suspected cases, and enhance surveillance in border districts.
