18th BRICS Summit 2026 Set To Begin Tomorrow As World Leaders Arrive In New Delhi
New Delhi: As the 18th BRICS Summit is all set to begin tomorrow in India, several world leaders are arriving in New Delhi to participate in the historic event. BRICS as being one of the major emerging economies, will hold its program on September 12 and 13 at Bharat Mandapam.
This is the first summit since India assumed the role of Chair earlier this year. Ahead of the meeting, a series of bilateral talks and other engagements are taking place between the global leaders in New Delhi. India is hosting the summit under its 2026 BRICS chairmanship.

Notably, the summit is also taking place against the backdrop of the global uncertainties due to the conflict in West Asia, the Ukraine war and the global oil disruption.
Chinese President Xi Jinping, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Russian President Vladimir Putin, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, UAE Crown Prince Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung are among the key leaders expected in New Delhi.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, WTO chief Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and New Development Bank President Dilma Rousseff are also attending in the event.
Russian President Vladimir Putin landed in New Delhi early Friday for a three-day visit. He is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi later today.
