Delhi police arrested a 21-year-old for allegedly stabbing a woman 50 times. The body was found crippled with stab marks in the northwest Delhi’s Shakur Basti, reports Times of India.
The police officer confirmed that the body was found lying on the railway track in Shakur Basti at 1:30 pm on January 25. After a thorough investigation, from the camera footages, the police identified the victim. The accused, who was identified as Pandav Kumar, a resident of Budh Vihar, was arrested after confessing the crime.
The police officer said that the accused who works as a labourer was planning to escape from his rented accommodation. During the interrogation, the accused claimed that he had been friends with the victim for the past one and a half years. But she started avoiding him later. On the pretext of their last meeting, she was called to an isolated place where Pandav committed the heinous crime.
The accused said that he met the woman from his native village in Bihar as her elder sister was married there. Pandav, in the last few months, suspected that the victim was having multiple affairs and that was the reason why she was avoiding him and thus decided to kill her, said the officer.
To commit the crime, Pandav purchased two knives from a local vendor at Rani Bagh Market to execute his plan. On January 24, when the victim refused his proposal to live with him together in a rented accommodation, he took her to the isolated railway yard and murdered her.
As per the police report, there was no part of the body of the victim without stab or slash marks, even her eyes were gouged out as well.
