As actor and DMDK Chief Vijayakant died on Thursday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam(DMK) President MK Stalin expressing his condolence, wrote on X: “The demise of our dear friend Vijayakant, fondly known as Captain by Tamil people, is a loss to Tamil Nadu and the film industry.”

MK Stalin has reached Vijayakant“s residence in Chennai to pay last respects. Calling him a friend, MK Stalin writes that Vijayakant possessed a good heart and was an achiever who made successful marks through hard work. He further cites Vijayakant”s contribution as an actor, and politician. The political responsibilities he undertook over the course of years as political party leader, legislator, leader of the opposition, and how he sincerely partake in it were recollected. Stalin also recounted his contribution to Tamil cinema, and association with Actors” Association.

He added that the friendship with the actor have not changed over the years despite change in political environment. DMDK chief”s death, Chief Minister said, is huge loss to the state and film industry, and extended his condolences to Captain Vijayakant”s family, party workers, and fans.

Continuing further, MK Stalin said that Tamil Nadu government will give full state honours for Vijayakant”s funeral.

Vijayakant died at a private hospital in Chennai on Thursday. He was the founder-leader of Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK).
