CBSE Board Class 10 & 12 Question Papers In Tamil Language, Demands DMK
The Tamil Nadu Leader of Opposition and DMK convenor, R. Siva, has asked for the Tamil language question papers for the CBSE Class 10th and 12th board exams. DMK leader said that students and parents in Tamil Nadu are stressed over the CBSE Board examination papers for classes 10 and 12 being issued only in English and Hindi languages.
He sought the CBSE question paper to incorporate regional languages from the current academic year.
The DMK leader also opposed the introduction of tests to promote students from classes 5 and 8, as this may create a negative impact on students’ confidence and increase dropout rates.

R.Siva, while criticising the AINRC-BJP government to implement centrally-framed National Education Policy in an ill-prepared manner, said that the lack of teachers for specific subjects, the delayed distribution of textbooks and uniforms, and a lack of uniform access to libraries are impairing the students’ academic performance.
Moreover, he demanded the declaration of the status of 10% quota seats for NEET admissions for students who studied in government schools from Std I to Std XII in the UT of Puducherry to higher education courses. While claiming that more than half of the total 37 seats are vacant, the DMK leader urged the government to clear the air on the status of the remaining seats.

Tamil Nadu has remained opposed to the imposition of Hindi as a third language in the school curriculum under the NEP 2020 and emphasised to follow a two-language policy. As per the Southern states, linguistic imposition is a threat to regional identities and cultural centralization by the Hindi-speaking North.
The textbook or curriculum updates in CBSE or NCERT suggest Hindi or Sanskrit as third language options.
