The police have taken the car driver, Mohit Kumar, into custody, and seized the car. An FIR has also been registered against him, as per the eyewitness accounts.

Delivery Boy Killed After Speeding Car Rams Electric Scooty In Delhi's Subhash Nagar

New Delhi: A 25-year-old delivery rider, Hem Shakar, was killed after a speeding Hyundai Verna car driven by Mohit Kumar, a 27-year-old MCD contractor from Najafgarh, struck Shakar’s electric scooty from behind near Subhash Nagar Metro station during the early hours of Saturday. The delivery boy, a resident of Raghubir Nagar, was declared dead at DDU Hospital.

Delhi police said that Tilak Nagar police station received a PCR call reporting the accident at around 3.26 am. The police team then rushed to the spot near the Subhash Nagar Metro red light on Najafgarh Road, towards Rajouri Garden, where both vehicles involved in the crash were found.

The police have taken the car driver, Mohit Kumar, into custody, and seized the car. An FIR has also been registered against him, as per the eyewitness accounts.

As per the eye witnesses, the Hyundai Verna car allegedly hit the e-scooty from behind, adding that the accused driver appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and attempted to flee the spot after hitting the rider, police said.

The delivery rider has been working with Zepto riding in an electric scooty.
