'Free Electricity, Women's Safety, Tackling Drugs': First Orders Singed By TVK's Vijay As Tamil Nadu Chief Minister

Chennai, Tamil Nadu: Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay sworn in as state chief minister on Sunday, May 10. Soon after taking charge, the actor-turned politician singed several key orders including his poll promise of free electricity supply.

The orders includes 200 units of power to be supplied free of cost, a special task force to to tackle the drug menace and a special force along with a hepline to ensure the safety of women. Vijay asserted that he will not make false promise, adding that the DMK cleaned up state coffers and we have taken over with Rs 10 lakh crore debt.

“We will not take a single penny from people’s funds and we will not allow anyone to loot the state,” the TVK leader said.
