Professor Kapil Kumar, former faculty of history at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) called RJ Sayema, a radio presenter ‘Ms Jihadin’ on an X post.
Prof Kapil Kumar made this controversial remark while commenting on Sayema’s post criticising the ‘bulldozer politics’. He wrote, “Nonsense? Wow Ms Jihadin! What your people do you cat see! No shame !”.

Journalist Aasif Mujtaba posted on X a video of a house bulldozing in Chhatturpur in Madhya Pradesh. He in his post alleged that the houses of the Muslims were demolished after their protest against the blasphemous remark against the Prophet. Criticizing the state government for bulldozing houses with alacrity without taking any against the one who made objectionable comments against the Prophet, Aasif wrote, “In Chhattarpur in Madhya Pradesh, house of Muslims were demolished after their protest against the blasphemous remark against the prophet. The investigation is still ongoing, the one who made the blasphemous remark is still out but Muslim houses were bulldozed with alacrity. Are court of law becoming a joke in this democracy.”
Highlighting this issue, Sayema taking this to the Supreme Court’s attention wrote on X, “Please Supreme Court! Take suo motto of this bulldozer nonsense too. Reprimand the State govts who are taking law in their own hands, doing such injustices!”
As per the Indian Express report, a day after a mob protesting objectionable statements about Prophet Muhammed and Islam, attacked the police station leaving many injured. The local administration bulldozed the palatial house of the person who had allegedly led the violent mob.

Just hours after the state’s chief minister Dr Mohan Yadav asked the Chhatarpur district administration to act sternly against the perpetrators of the violence, the administration bulldozed the house built by Haji Shahzad Ali, former Chhatarpur Congress chief without permission at the prime location.
Expressing her disappointment, Sayema responded to Professors controversial remark on X. She wrote, “A Professor of Centre for Freedom Struggle, IGNOU! Wow, he teaches @OfficialIGNOU? What? Hate? Name calling?”
Professor Kapil Kumar is currently a senior fellow at the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, in New Delhi. He superannuated as Director Centre for Freedom Struggle and Diaspora Studies and Chairperson, the Faculty of History at Indira Gandhi National Open University.
