Anuj Chaudhary, a 30-year-old local BJP leader from Uttar Pradesh was shot dead outside his residence in Moradabad on Thursday evening.
Mr Chaudhary was taking a walk with his brother on the streets. And he was suddenly attacked allegedly by three unknown men who came on a motorcycle, shows the CCTV visuals.
He was shot multiple times, while others on the street were seen running away in fear, shows the CCTV footage.
He was immediately taken to hospital, but died during the treatment, said police to Hindustan Times. Mr Chaudhary was active in local politics and also contested in block chief elections, but was unsuccessful.
His family has already blamed Mr Chaudhary’s political rivals for the murder.‘The family members have filed a complaint and a case has been registered against two men, Amit Chaudhary and Aniket’, said Hemraj Meena, Senior Superintendent of Police of Moradabad.
“There was personal rivalry between the two parties. A case has been registered against four people. Five teams have been formed to arrest the accused. Strict legal action will be taken after arresting the wanted accused soon,” the Moradabad Police said in an official statement. Further investigation by the police is underway and they are tracking down the accused.
