Several Injured At Rahul Gandhi's Convoy Mets With Accident On Purvanchal Expressway

Uttar Pradesh: Several people were injured after cars in Leader Of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s convoy collided with an ambulance on Purvanchal Expressway in Uttar Pradesh.

The incident happened at Haliyapur, 100 km from the state capital Lucknow, were at the rear of the convoy, according to the police said. At least five vehicles were reportedly involved in the collision.

The injured people include party workers and security personnel. Rahul Gandhi is safe, according to reports. Rahul GAndhi was travelling to Sultanpur to appear before a special MP-MLA court in connection with a 2018 defamation case.

Videos from the site show several vehicles involved in a collision on the expressway, with an ambulance appearing to have hit vehicles from behind. It was not immediately clear whether the ambulance was part of Gandhi’s convoy.
